TRAVEL TIPS

Bike Travel

Glasgow has become an increasingly cycle-friendly city with networks of off-road cycle paths. In 2014 Glasgow introduced a public bike-rental scheme; ranks of blue cycles at over 30 stations around the city are available for hire. To rent a bike, provide a credit card number and a £10 deposit on the smartphone app, over the phone, or on the on-bike computer, and give them the cycle number. You'll be given the number for the combination lock and off you go. The whole process takes seconds, and it's a great way to see the city. Bikes cost £1 per 30 minutes up to 5 hours or £10 for 5–24 hours. The Glasgow Cycle Map available at all information centers provides comprehensive information on routes.
